I just wanted to give a quick, personal account of my trip to work this morning.
I don’t even need to mention that minor roads have not been taken care of yet, so be prepared to dig your vehicle out and drive over a small hill of snow to get onto the roadway. I got onto I-65 S and immediately started sliding around. The short on ramp was still covered in snow and slush, making acceleration next to impossible. I quickly learned that driving about 50 MPH was the best way to go. I drove until I got to I-264 E, and then learned that its condition was far worse. Almost the entire roadway was covered in slush. I drove about 25-30 MPH until I realized that the far left lane was the clearest of them all. HOWEVER, I would not reccomend going over 45 MPH in it, as it’s still not perfect.
In general, exercise extreme caution. Most of the time, you can’t tell where one lane ends and another begins. Some lanes are completely covered still, where there should be several. For instance, on Shelbyville Road around Oxmoor, there is only one lane you can really use, as the others are just snow. (By the way, thanks guy in the Kia for letting me over!)
Surprisingly, I don’t think I saw any accidents. I saw a few people pulled over to the side of the road, but I don’t think anybody had gotten in a wreck. I did, however, see several crews of snow plows trying to clear roadways, so hopefully, conditions will soon improve. There’s my two cents on the situation. Be careful!

So, I just had an interesting experience. I was approaching an intersection, and the light was about to change. I thought I could make it through, until I noticed all the cars stopped. With the combination of my worn-down tires and the wet road, my brakes were no match for Newton’s First Law. I hit the red Civic in front of me (coincidentally, also from Daviess county) and freaked out, because wrecks suck. We got out and inspected the damage, and were both glad to find that there was none. We decided that there was no need to report anything, so we went back to our cars. As I was getting in, I saw a cop pull up behind me. I was hoping they’d ignore it, but when I looked in my rear view mirror, I saw lights. We both got back out of our cars and said that there was no damage. The officer asked if we were both in agreement not to report it, and we said yes, and that was the end of it. I’m glad that there was no serious damage, or that we didn’t have to report it anyway. That’s the last thing I need…

I’m pissed off that my internet won’t work, and Insight can’t run a new line until August 15th. If it keeps cutting out all day, I’m demanding a credit to my account for the time I’ve been paying for internet I don’t have.
Was listening to TWIT on the way to work this morning. Leo kept throwing out names that I recognized. I was slightly surprised.
My car rolled over to 270,000 miles about a mile from the office. Tried to get a picture, but it didn’t work too well.
Also, I’m really wet. Thanks, rain, for waiting until I left to start. T_T

I just saw a cool sign on the back of somebody’s van. It said something along the lines of “This vehicle maintains speeds under 60 mph for 30% increased fuel efficiency. Sorry for the inconvenience. Try it, you’ll be surprised!” I would, but I couldn’t handle that..

Google just sent me on a wild goose chase looking for Quizno’s. Both the Google Maps application on my iPhone and Brightkite told me that 2112 S. Hursbourne Parkway was in the same place, so I drove around for a good amount of time trying to find it. Walgreens was located where I was told Quizno’s was. I drove through some back streets hoping to find it, to no avail. I then realized that I was in the 2800 block of Hurstbourne Parkway. What gives, Google?
When I got back to the office, I checked http://maps.google.com/ and saw that it knows where Quizno’s really is. I’m kinda confused…
